Introducing ePower East Cork Athletic – A New Force in the Cork Business League
We’re proud to announce the launch of ePower East Cork Athletic, a brand-new club entering the Cork Business League for the upcoming season. Born out of a shared passion for football and a desire to reunite old teammates, their squad is made up of a tight-knit group of young lads who previously played together at u-19 level in East Cork. This club is more than just a team – it’s a reunion of friends, a celebration of community, and a fresh start with big ambitions.
Secretary Peadar Gilroy details the squad capabilities: “Our players hail primarily from Cloyne, Aghada, and Midleton, bringing with them a strong local identity and a deep connection to the East Cork football scene. While we’re a new name in the league, we’re not short on experience – several of our players have competed at high levels, including the AUL Premier, Premier A, and Division 1, and are eager to bring that quality and intensity to the CBL.
We train in Carrigtwohill, and our home fixtures will be played at the excellent facilities of Mayfield United, where we look forward to welcoming fans, friends, and fellow clubs throughout the season.
Our goals for this inaugural season are clear: Be competitive from the first whistle, Grow together as a team both on and off the pitch, Establish a strong club culture built on respect, hard work, and community spirit. And most importantly, enjoy the game and bring the buzz of football back to our group We’re excited to be part of the Cork Business League and can’t wait to get started.”
ePower East Cork Athletic enters the Cork Business League with a youthful, determined squad eager to make an immediate impact. While new to the league, Peadar wants to make it clear: “We are not here to simply make up the numbers. Our aim is to compete with intensity, earn respect, and prove that we are a side to be taken seriously from the very first whistle.”
