? Cork Business League Launches Player of the Month Awards! ?
Over the weekend, the Cork Business League (CBL) announced the inaugural winners of the CBL Premier Division & CBL First Division Player of the Month Awards!
Congratulations to Damien O’Mahony of Satellite Taxis who won the Premier Division Player of the Month Award. Below he is pictured with CBL Secretary Peter Travers on Friday night.
We also presented Mario Focsa of Cork County Council the First Division Player of the Month Award on Sunday afternoon, before he went on to grab a hat-trick in his sides 5-2 win against Trend Micro. Below he is pictured with CBL Secretary Peter Travers.
As a league, we strive to promote all aspects of the amateur game in Cork, and one of our new initiatives this season was to create a Player of the Month Award for both divisions. Both of these awards are chosen based on a variety of sources, eg match reports, goals stats, clean sheets, overall consistent performances during the month in question. We utilise social media within the CBL and if a player is mentioned online due to the positive impact he had for a team, this is also taken into consideration. The CBL Management Committee has the final say in deciding the winners each month.
The trophies for each award have been provided by Garry McCarthy Trophies and the monthly graphic designed by On the Ball Media.
The CBL is looking for a sponsor to come on board for the season to get behind the winners. If you are interested or know of a local Cork business who might be in a position to sponsor both the CBL Premier Division and First Division monthly awards, please drop us an email to [email protected]
