Cork Business League Oscar Traynor Trophy 2025 Squad Announcement

Today, Monday 17th November 2025 – the Cork Business League is delighted to announce our Squad for the upcoming Munster Semi Final of the Oscar Traynor Trophy.

Under the Management of the Dennehy’s Health & Fitness Grangevale trio of Head Coach Diarmuid O’Neill, Assistant John O’Connell and Goalkeeping Coach Jamie O’Sullivan, our squad will attempt to overturn the Munster Senior League for the first time in thirty-three years in a winner takes all tie. Jamie would have played between the posts against the MSL and Waterford in 2023 and will be of invaluable assistance in preparing the squad on what to expect for oppositions going forward.

Speaking to CorkBusinessLeague.ie today, Diarmuid O’Neill is confident his preparation will stand to everyone involved this week: “We’ve had a really enjoyable experience to date. We’ve played 5 friendlies and have had 3 trainings. We’ve used 26 players from 10 clubs across the league.

There a lot of players unfortunate to not have been called up who are playing very well. They will come back into contention should we win on Thursday.

There are excellent players in this league. Real quality. We’ve seen that in our games. The sessions and friendlies with the group have had brillant commitment and output each time.

The CBL have been fantastic, giving us free reign and any support needed. John, Jamie and I have enjoyed working together, the two lads are very passionate about this experience and have been great members of the management team.

Thursday will be a fast paced game with a lot of the best junior players in Cork on show. We hope to be positive, aggressive in our play and take the game to the MSL. They’re expected to win and that suits us fine, we know we have the quality to win ourselves. That belief we have, coupled with the team spirit of a club side will serve us well. Bring on Thursday.

The squad has prepared well with a number of training sessions and impressive friendly victories and with confidence high the tie against a very strong visiting eleven is eagerly awaited.”
