FAI Connect Self Registration Process Announced

The Football Association of Ireland has confirmed a major improvement to the FAI Connect system following consultation and feedback received from FAI Connect users as the self-registration functionality will go live in 2025.

In a major step forward for the system and the functionality for all users, the FAI Connect self-registration functionality will be available from March 2025. This means that new registrations will self-register from this point onwards with the following benefits:

  • The existing administrator will no longer have to follow the current registration process. Only new registrations (not current existing registrations) will self-register from this point onwards meaning that clubs will no longer need to do this.
  • This new process will be initiated by the parent/guardian or player themselves (age dependent).
  • This will make a significant difference to reducing club volunteer time and labour spent on administrative tasks.
  • Improve the accuracy of FAI Connect data.
  • Reduce GDPR risks for all users.

To help with this change, the FAI Connect team will host a number of webinars in Quarter 1 of 2025, create self-help portal videos, tutorials and updated guides to ensure users are fully aware of how to operate these upcoming changes.

Due to this upgrade in functionality, player registration levies will increase from January 1st, 2025, to €3 for juniors (8-16 year olds) and €4 for adults (17+) per season.

The Football Association of Ireland would like to thank you all for your continued engagement and support in 2024 and look forward to an exciting 2025.
