Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Launch New Cork Business League Club!

Thursday, 8th August 2024, Ringaskiddy, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Ireland launch new Cork Business League 20 years after last being represented in the CBL.

First entering the league back in 1974, on what would be their 50th anniversary season, Pfizer FC knows the strong history it has with the CBL. Club Secretary Cian Carroll said they are glad to be back. “The demand for soccer in the company has increased in the last couple of years with an influx of younger staff, and after playing couple of very enjoyable 6-a-side tournaments within the company, we decided to have a go with an official competitive team. In our first season back, we’re hoping to challenge for promotion and see where that takes us, but most of all we’re just looking for a bit of craic and a good game of ball. Hopefully our fitness will improve the more games we play”

Some players to be on the lookout are Glen Sexton keeping things together at the back, Rian Tempany in attack who got a tidy goal and assist in thier first friendly recently, and the pacey Darragh O’Halloran on the wing who scored the winner in the same outing.
