2023 CBL Shield Group Stage Draw

Tonight, in Munster FA HQ, Turners Cross Stadium, the draw was made for the 2023 CBL Shield Group Stages. The format of the competition is 4 Groups of four teams & 4 Groups of three teams, with only the winner of each Group progressing to the Quarter Finals. Opening fixtures of this season’s competition will take place on the 25th / 26th / 27th August 2023.

1. 3 points for a normal time Group Stage win;
2. 0 points for a normal time Group Stage loss;
3. If level after 90 minutes in any game other than the Final, the game goes straight to a Penalty Shoot-out;
4. 2 points for a Penalty Shoot-out Group Stage win;
5. 0 points for a Penalty Shoot-out Group Stage loss;
6. If two teams are level on points at the end of the group stage, it goes down to the head-to-head result; and
7. If more than two teams are level on points at the end of the group stage, it goes down to head-to-head results between them.
8. If level after 90 minutes in the Final, there is extra time of two halves of 10 mins a-side, and if still level, the game goes to a Penalty Shoot-out.
