PepsiCo 2 – 1 Dell EMC
PEPSICO’S flying start to the season continued with a fourth win in six after coming out on top in a best of three encounter with Dell EMC at Mayfield Community School last Saturday afternoon, writes Finbarr Buckley.
Ian Leahy netted twice for the winners with Brendan Daly replying for the visitors who have lost their opening five matches and need to rediscover last season’s form in the New Year to get back into the title race. The hosts now joint Abtran and Planet Entertainment in a three way tie at the top.

Martin Harvey Solicitors 3 – 9 Colso Celtic
Colso remain the division’s top scorers after another big win took them to within three points of the leaders. Ryan Towler helped himself to six of the total with Alex Cummins, Mark Dalton, Gary O’Sullivan and former Marlboro Trust favourite Shane O’Riordan also among the goals. Adam O’Sullivan, Niall Riordan and Darragh Healy netted for the home side whose best performers included Ryan O’Brien and Stephen Colgan. Towler, O’Riordan and O’Sullivan impressed throughout for the visitors.

Planet Entertainment (Cork) 3 – 2 Cork Hospitals
Cork Hospitals trailed two-nil at half-time to goals from Charlie Murphy and a goal-of-the-match second from top scorer James Morrissey who combined with fellow marksman Joe Cullagh before tying up the contest with two second-half penalties from Joe Loftus. Planet’s push for a winner was almost derailed by the sending off of central defender Lee Cooney for a second yellow card offense but a last gasp winner from Murphy secured all three points and guaranteed the hosts joint top spot with Abtran and PepsiCo going into the Christmas break.

The Weigh Inn Dripsey 1 – 3 Janssen
The Weigh Inn did all the early running and carved a number of worthwhile chances only to fall behind to a 5th minute Eoghan Market strike. Despite Frank Field’s 35th minute equalizer, the host’s were undone again to another Market finish before half-time. The second 45 began with the home team again in the ascendancy, but the concession of another goal to Market ended any hope of a revival, but the future looks bright for debutants The Weigh Inn who have shown improved form in recent weeks.
